Theft and Safety

North-Yorkshire-Police-logo

North Yorkshire Police arrested at male on 12th July following witnesses reporting to see him attempting to steal a bike outside Wards Butchers York Road Tadcaster.  This male has been charged with theft of a bike and police are currently trying to link with other incidents around the town during the week.  Any witnesses are urged to contact the police.  It is also requested that if anything suspicious is seen with people appearing to break locks from secured bikes that the police are called immediately.

Local residents around the West Mount/Stutton Road area of Tadcaster are becoming increasingly concerned about young children playing on their scooters and bikes and having little regard about road safety.  Please can you ensure that your children are aware of the dangers of cycling/scootering along the roads especially around bends when vehicles can be coming the other way.  With the start of the summer holidays upon up we do urge the children to stay safe and be responsible.  The police will be doing regularly cycle/foot patrols around the estates and issuing safety advice where appropriate.  Please contact Tadcaster Safer Neighbourhood Team if you have any particular concerns.
