Witness appeal – Tadcaster man assaulted in his home
Police are appealing for information after a man was assaulted at his house in Tadcaster on the morning of Friday 12 July 2013.
At around 6.30am, two men called at the property on Windmill Rise and assaulted the occupant, a man in his thirties.
It is believed the men left the scene of the incident in a silver car with a yellow sign on the side.
Officers are appealing to anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in the area at the time, including the two men or the silver car, to contact them.
It’s possible that the vehicle was a taxi and police are also appealing to any taxi drivers who transported passengers to the Tadcaster area this morning, including drivers from the West Yorkshire area, to please get in touch.
Detective Sergeant Ash Khan of Selby CID, said: “We believe that this incident is an isolated one and would like to reassure local residents that the wider community was not at risk.
“We are now asking anyone who may have seen the two men in the Windmill Rise area or saw a silver car, possibly a taxi, to contact us and help bring the people who did this to justice.”
The victim was very shaken up by the incident and was treated at York District Hospital for minor head injuries.
Anyone with any information about the incident is asked to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2 and ask for Selby CID.
Or you can pass information anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
