Tadcaster Albion U11s Win Prestigious Award

Tadcaster Albion Juniors Awards

Tadcaster Albion Under 11’s football team were presented with The Garforth League Divisional  secretary’s recognition award for outstanding sportsmanship, after a tough season it was just what the players needed after being inadvertently put in the wrong division in September. After a difficult summer including the departure of their head coach and four players, it was an achievement just to put a team out on the opening day. Through the season there was little to cheer, but parents and players alike kept their heads up and maintain high spirits, even on the coldest, wettest Sundays, and a meagre point was their only reward.

So it was a fitting tribute to the players when the Coaches were contacted by the Under 11’s league secretary and informed they would be receiving the award, it was kept secret by Coaches and Parents and all of the lads who were available were taken down to Bradford City’s Valley Parade Stadium, where the leagues presentation was taking place.

It made the whole season worthwhile to see their faces when they were called up, and a fitting ended to a troubled year.

As we move forward into the 2014/15 season, the team have moved into the York Mitchell League, and into the third division, which means they will face teams of their ability and huge score lines will be a thing of the past. We have signed several new players, and now have three coaches in place, and with the exciting developments at the senior club this promises to be a season to remember.

Well done all at Tadcaster Albion Under 11’s and here’s to next season!!!!
